Professor of Science, Language and Society
Brigitte Nerlich is Professor of Science, Language, and Society at the Institute for Science and Society at the University of Nottingham. She directs a five year research programme 'Making Science Public' funded by the Leverhulme Trust and is Principal Investigator on an ESRC funded project devoted to charting climate change debates. Her current research focuses on the cultural and political contexts in which metaphors and other framing devices are used in the public, policy and scientific debates about synthetic biology and climate change and the sociology of health and illness.
