Panels and workshops are awesome, but sometimes it's nice to just sit back and take in a show, or have a bit of a party. In addition to a number of track specific events, there are some central events being put on for the attendees of Nine Worlds.

Friday

• The Great Arcade

  For a brief, glorious few hours on Friday afternoon, Cremant (the Great Hall of Nine Worlds) will become a vast space hosting games of all kinds, for all kinds. From parlour and paper games to multiplayer button mashing, we’ll have all sorts to bring out your playful side! Join our crowdsourced Hearthstone run, take part in our Click Clack Lumberjack tournament, play plenty of solo and group games, or do your own thing in our comfy handheld hangout zone - game on!




• Steven Universe Singalong

  They are the Crystal Gems! They always save the day! And if you want to sing, just come and find the way! Sing along with all of the classic Steven Universe songs such as Strong in the Real Way, Comet, and Stronger Than You!




• Ready, Steady, FLASH!

  Everyone loves a good story. But sometimes, inspiration doesn’t strike. Join host Lee Harris and his victims… *ahem* motley crew of professional authors as they attempt to write four pieces of flash fiction. The catch? They don’t know the theme of their stories until a second before they have to start writing them, and they only have five minute in which to write each one! You, the audience, get to decide the winner!




• The Mechanisms

  We’re very glad to welcome the Mechanisms back to Nine Worlds. Not only will they be performing as part of your Friday night ents, they’ll be bringing a new story with them called ‘the Bifröst incident’.




• Helen Arney: Voice of an Angle

  Helen is a physicist, presenter, stand-up comedian and musician. Having appeared across the globe we’re very happy to welcome her to Nine Worlds where she’ll be performing as the headline act of Friday night bringing you songs, science, silliness and stand-up. Suitable for ages 14+




• Video Game Burlesque: Show Me Your Moves! (18+)

  Join Lady Stardust for an advneture into the ultimate combo: video games and burlesque. Expect interactive games, Pokemon Go-Go dancers, and a half-naked Link. Performances from Marquissa Dark, Ray Rustle, Fanny Darling and Fey au Lait.




• Live Commentary for a MYSTERY MOVIE

  Join us as we do a live commentary for a MYSTERY MOVIE. We promise it will be thoroughly trashy and thoroughly wonderful. We’ll have Andrew, Kat and Luca leading it, but we’ll be passing the mics around to anyone that wants a crack at making interesting insights/obscure anecdotes/stupid jokes about the movie, and we hope a fun time will be had by all.   Bifröst is back and it's bigger and better than ever. Bringing you dexterous dancers, marvellous magicians, commendable comedians, delightful DJs, peerless poets and a congenial compère. Join us for our community cabaret and the after party disco, you won't regret it.




• Dead By Dawn with Evil Dead 2 (18+)

  There’s something… out there… IN THE WOODS! Which should give you even more reason to come join us in Bourg for some late night entertainment. Preceded by a mixture of weird and wonderful videos and trailers, this year Nine Worlds will be screening the classic EVIL DEAD 2 as its Saturday Midnight Movie! Will you survive, or will you be dead by dawn?

• End of the Con Quiz

  It's time to wrap things up with the End of the Con Quiz, with more prizes to be won and a chance to cap off your weekend on a high note.
