Known as the premier Game of Thrones fan convention, TitanCon is a fan-run, not-for-profit SFF con based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where it is ideally placed to attract great guests from the cast and crew of the show. We'll be joining forces with Nine Worlds to create a great line-up of panels and events for fans of the ASOIAF books and the Game of Thrones show.
Over the last three years, TitanCon have hosted some great guests, including Maisie Williams (Arya), Sophie Turner (Sansa), Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Art Parkinson (Rickon), Aimee Richardson (Myrcella), Miltos Yerolemou (Syrio Forel), Ron Donachie (Rodrik Cassel), Laura Pradelska (Quaithe), Luke Barnes (Rast), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Jojen Reed), Ian McElhinney (Barristan), William Simpson (Storyboard artist) and Emma Andrews (Drapes department).
Now entering their fourth year, TitanCon has built a solid reputation for interesting discussion panels and a friendly, almost family reunion-like atmosphere. TitanCon 2014 takes place on Saturday 13 September at the Wellington Park Hotel, Belfast. The weekend also includes a free literature night on the Friday evening, and a coach tour on Sunday that'll be visiting beautiful Game of Thrones filming locations around Northern Ireland. The full TitanCon experience is a packed weekend, a lot of fun and, quite simply, the best Game of Thrones fan event in the world. More information and details are available from the TitanCon website.

Religious Extremism in Westeros
Panel: Kerry Ingram, Miltos Yerolemou, Phil Lowles (mod)
Season five really brought religion to the fore in Game of Thrones, with the Faith of the Seven taking over in King’s Landing and Melisandre convincing Stannis to sacrifice his only daughter to the fires of the Red God in brutal and harrowing fashion. We’ll examine whether anyone in Westeros can justify extreme acts in the name of their god and how those acts have shaped the story so far.

The Children
Panel: Kerry Ingram, Miltos Yerolemou, Phil Lowles (mod)
Our panel will discuss the role of children in Game of Thrones. From common born to the sons and daughters of Lords, to Princes and Princesses, many young people in Westeros have been the focal point of the story, and may even turn out to be the biggest heroes in the end. We’ll discuss the very different training regimes of Arya and Bran Stark, and how Shireen Baratheon should totally have ended up on the Iron Throne in any proper kind of tale…
Royal B
5.00pm - 6.15pm
