Ria Cheyne

Science fiction PhD and lecturer

Ria Cheyne is a lecturer in Disability Studies and English Literature at Liverpool Hope University. Her geek credentials include a PhD on science fiction and academic publications on Ursula K. Le Guin, Anne McCaffrey, Torchwood, and invented languages in SF. Her research focuses on the representation of disability in genre fiction, and she is the author of a chapter in Disability in Science Fiction, edited by Kathryn Allan (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013). Her book Disability, Literature, Genre: Representation in Contemporary Fiction will be published in 2016 by Liverpool University Press.
