Kelly Kanayama

Comics scholar and critic

Kelly Kanayama is a comics scholar and critic currently pursuing a PhD in contemporary transatlantic comics at the University of Dundee. Her research interests include Judge Dredd, the comics of Garth Ennis, and Grant Morrison's Batman.

Her creative work on comics and pop culture has been published in The Room, Lighthouse Literary Journal, Ink Sweat & Tears, and the British Science Fiction Association's official journal.

She writes for the intersectional feminist geek culture website Women Write About Comics and is the Administrative Manager for Media Diversified, an independent media platform dedicated to promoting the perspectives and experiences of people of colour.
