Dr Juliette Harrisson

Juliette is an ancient historian specialising in myth and religion in the ancient world and the reception of ancient Greece and Rome in popular culture (primarily film and television). She is also a freelance writer and regular contributor to Den of Geek and Doux Reviews, as well as maintaining her own blog, Pop Classics. Her academic monograph, Dreams and Dreaming in the Roman Empire, came out in 2013 and she has written several articles on the reception of Greece and Rome including contributions to Rome Season Two: Trial and Triumph (ed. Monica Cyrino) and Strange Horizons (February 2015). Juliette will be speaking at Nine Worlds in the History track on ‘Historical headcanons’ and on her favourite historical movies, and on the Supernatural track on free will in Supernatural.
