'Scrappy' was a word frequently applied to Amy in her youth, as were 'tomboy' and 'geek', and she is proud to say that all of these still apply. Amy is very excited to be bringing two of her loves - martial arts and feminism - together to deliver a self-defence session at Nine Worlds. With 10 years’ experience in Budo Tai Jutsu, Amy has set out to create a self-defence program that helps women to gain the same confidence that she has found from training in martial arts. When not teaching women how to kick butt, Amy enjoys a plethora of geeky interests and pursuits such as reading comic books, playing video games and binge watching all manner of geeky films and TV shows on Netflix. Her idols include: Captain Marvel, Korra, Wonder Woman, and Mabel from Gravity Falls.
