Sarah McIntyre

Illustrator for children, of monsters

Illustrator and writer Sarah McIntyre is usually easy to spot in her pointy glasses and flamboyant hats. She makes picture books and comics in an old police station in south London. Her comic, Vern and Lettuce, appeared in The Guardian and she currently has a comic strip called Shark and Unicorn in The Funday Times. Her most recent books include Oliver and the Seawigs with Oxford University Press, co-authored with Philip Reeve, and her solo picture book with Scholastic, There's a Shark in the Bath. She will be launching Jampires this autumn, a picture book with David Fickling Books and David O'Connell, based on an online Comics Jam they did. Sarah and Philip Reeve are pleased to be giving Nine Worlds a premier of their event for their new book together, Cakes in Space, and advance copies will be available exclusively for the festival. Check out Sarah's website, where you can download fun, free activities based on her books, and keep an eye on her blog, which she updates frequently with news and drawings.
