Abigail Nathan has been a freelance editor for over ten years, focusing on copyediting and proofreading, and structural and developmental editing. Originally from the UK, she now lives in Sydney and has edited for various Australian publishing houses, including HarperCollins, Random House, Hachette, Penguin and Harlequin, as well as several UK publishers and small presses in the US. She has worked with authors including Karen Miller, Ian Irvine, Traci Harding, Mary Victoria and many others, and she also works regularly with emerging and self-publishing writers — mentoring and helping them to develop their work. She specialises in genre fiction, including speculative fiction (fantasy, science fiction, paranormal and horror), romance and erotica, and YA.

Abigail runs Bothersome Words Editing & Writing Services and blogs about editing, writing and reading. She is also the website coordinator for the Society of Editors (NSW) Inc. and has previously presented workshops on editing, freelancing, social media and marketing.
