Charlie Oughton

Vaudevillian storyteller, shenanigan enthusiast

Charlie Oughton is a broadcaster, author, lecturer, performer and journalist specializing in taboo (particularly serial killers), horror (particularly Stephen King) and gender studies. Charlie writes for outlets including Starburst, SciFi Now, Ain’t It Cool News and Real Crime and presents DVD commentaries, co-organises arts festivals, has judged international film festivals and has contributed to several books on horror film. Well-versed in the weird wonderful,, he is also an actor, presenter (including Moviedrome) and historical storyteller with a penchant for audience interaction and vaudevillian shenanigans.

He lectures in Film, Media, Live Events and Cultural Studies at Regent’s University London and University of the Arts London and has toured his film studies cabaret lectures to critical acclaim at events including the Shock and Gore Festival, Southend International Film Festival and Bram Stoker International Film Festival.

He also has a serious ‘thing’ for How to Train Your Dragon.
