James Wallis

Games Designer and Consultant

James Wallis is a games designer and consultant, best known for setting up Hogshead Publishing in the 1990s, the first successful British RPG publisher since Games Workshop, and for his work in game storytelling, notably co-designing the fairytale card-game Once Upon a Time and accidentally founding the entire story-games field with his game The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen.

He is lead designer on the new edition of Paranoia, lectures in game design at London South Bank University, and runs the games consultancy Spaaace (www.spaaace.com). He lives in London with his wife and 1d4 -1 children.
